SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA - In 23-days,

shifts north to Famoso Raceway, where racers have the opportunity to compete at
sea-level and post some incredible E.T.'s
Fans from all over the Kern County
are counting down the days to see the matches of a lifetime. Unlike other
organizations that promise appearances from certain racers and teams, check out
some of confirmed matches that only the Battle of the Imports can
deliver:
The Pro-Comp Class features
the Westcoast debut of Adam Saruwatari's NSX versus Abel Ibarra's
RX7 versus Jimmy O'Connor Toyota Truck versus Efren Vasquez driving
Abel Ibarra's Mazda R100.
The Pro-Mod Class has Ray
Lochhead's RX7 will be competing heads up against Joe Morgan's Ford
Focus.
If that wasn't enough, the Turbo
Magazine Pro-Import Class has the pair of 9-second JG/Edlebrock Honda
Civics piloted by Jojo Callos and Adrian Sabori
competing against a long list of other 9-sec machines like the Honda
Civics of Jimmy O'Connor, Leevon Eisele, and Roger Scalise.
In addition, the Venom Racing
Pro-Street Class will surely have the fans on their feet as these "All-Motor
Assassins" attempt to fill the 8-car field with all 10-second
efforts. Pro-Street racers such as Shawn Hillier (L'Natural), Bisi
Ezerioha (Matrix Racing), Erick Aguilar (Ericks Racing), Norman Aubry (Ericks
Racing), Joel Mandl (Southgate Auto), and others will be squeezing
every last horsepower in search for the number one qualifying spot.
The Mothers Polishes Import Auto
Tour will be offering over 21-classes for car show enthusiasts from
everywhere. There are even classes for trucks and SUV's. Everyone
who enters the show will receive a little gift from Mothers Polishes. The
car show is expected to sell out as entries have been limited to 250. If
the drag racing and car show wasn't enough excitement, the finestwomen.com
Bikini Contest will top everything off as the finest looking ladies from around
strut their stuff for cash and prizes in front of thousands of fans on the verge
of blowing their gasket.
This is one event you cannot afford
to miss. With Famoso Raceway at sea-level (under 400-feet), the excellent
track maintenance and preparation, the convenient location for cities between
Southern and Northern California, the actual spectator restroom facilities with
hot and cold running water, the absence of wind and dirt, Famoso Raceway
will quickly become a racer's mecca.
This event has been advertised for
the last 3-issues of Turbo Magazine and Import Tuner Magazine.
Additionally, over 75,000 event flyers have been distributed all over the L.A.,
the Kern Counties, and Northern California. Even radio ads will
be beginning in 2-weeks. An all new "Version-2" of the event flyer and a
limited edition event poster are currently available through the Battle of the
Imports and will also be distributed at other consumer car show
events.
